The department operates and maintains 300+ computer systems connected in a wired local area network. Wireless connectivity is also available throughout the chemical engineering building DWE via the campus wireless project and is maintained by the faculty of engineering.

Computing stations in these rooms provide access to all other computing resources including the internet, other UNIX host computers and printing facilities.
UNIX (CAPE) Research Facilities are available to those working with the faculty members who have access to these facilities. Have electronic or written permission from your supervisor and the owner of the UNIX (CAPE) system sent to Dennis Herman (dherman@cape.uwaterloo.ca), X32196, DWE 2508.
The department maintains a presentation room DWE 2534 equipped with a multimedia NEXUS accessible computer, ceiling mounted LCD Video projector and satellite dish.
