Research Interests

My research is in the areas of chemical reaction engineering and polymer materials as well as catalysis techniques with special emphases currently on

syntheses of nano-structured polymers/catalysts, aiming at applications to chemical/biomedical engineering, fuel cells, membrane reactors, and solar energy batteries, etc.
chemical modification of polymers, such as diene-based and styrene-based polymers
"green" catalysts and catalysis techniques, especially for supercritical fluid involved reaction operations, aiming at applications to medical and food areas
supercritical fluid-assisted reactions/separations, aiming at developing practical "green" technologies for polymeric, nutraceutical and pharmaceutical processes
reaction engineering problems, including reaction kinetics and catalytic mechanism discrimination, transport phenomena (rheological behaviour, flow, mass transfer, heat transfer, mixing), advanced reactors/devolatilizers, and scale-up/down of chemical processes
